Welcome Back Message
Greetings Citrus Community,
I hope this email finds you happy, healthy, and enjoying the remaining days of your summer vacation. I can't believe in just a few weeks, we will be back to school!!! As we gear up for another GREAT school year, I wanted to share some important information with you.
Upcoming Events
It Takes a Village- August 18th from 10am-1pm
During our "It Takes a Village" event, we go out into our community to visit students, set goals with them for the upcoming school year, provide them with school supplies, and then come back to Citrus to enjoy a FREE pizza lunch. We wish we could visit all of our families, however, that is not possible. If you would like your students to be chosen for this event and receive a home visit from some of our staff and community members, please complete this form before Wednesday, August 11th. If you are selected, you will recieve a text confirmation.
Back to School Bash- August 25th from 1:30pm-3:30pm
After last year's success, we will once again open our school to allow families to get to know our campus before the first day, learn about different opportunities to support your students at Citrus, and offer families freebies and resources to set everyone up for success this upcoming school year. This will take place on August 25th from 1:30pm-3:30pm.
First Day of School- August 28th
The first day of school is on August 28th. School starts at 8:30am, however, our gates open at 8 am. Families will be able to walk their son/daughter to class on the first day only. All students are able to receive a free breakfast which is served from 8am-8:25am in our cafeteria.
Classroom Information
We know how excited you and your son/daughter are to find out who their new teacher will be for the upcoming school year! Please make sure you are able to log into Parent Portal!!! All classroom information (including teacher) will only be available through our Aeries Parent Portal beginning on August 25th. We will have staff available at our Back to School Bash to support anyone unable to log in. Also, if you are already out school shopping and wondering what supplies your son/daughter might need, please refer to our grade level wish lists (this is simply a wish list, these supplies are not required).
Bus Information
If you are interested in receiving transportation for your son/daughter, you MUST complete this form and receive a confirmation from our transportation department before your student is able to ride the bus. I encourage you to complete this form as soon as possible as our buses have limited seats and fill up quickly.
Before/After School Programs
We are blessed to have a free afterschool program through Think Together that is open to our 1st-6th grade students. The program offers some homework assistance and enrichment opportunities and begins after school every day and ends at 6pm. All students need to be able to attend for the majority of the program. ALL STUDENTS must be re-enrolled each year, so if you are interested in having your son/daughter attend our Think Together program during the 2023-2024 school year, email Maria Ramirez or call 909-682-3314. We also have a before and after school daycare option, if you are interested in that please email Heather Young.
As always, if you have any additional questions or I can be of any assistance, feel free to reach out. I hope you continue to enjoy your summer break and look forward to seeing all of you as we get closer to the start of the school year.
